Hand-painted, one-of-a-kind wearable art by Maine artist Ashton Fairbanks LeCraw — custom garments and send-in commissions from the mountains of Phillips.
AFL Clothing is Ashton Fairbanks LeCraw's hand-painted wearable-art brand, based in the mountains of Phillips in western Maine. A professional oil painter for over thirteen years, with a stint in fashion and a year as a tattoo artist in Los Angeles, LeCraw moved to Maine in 2021 and launched AFL in response to fast fashion stripping individuality out of garments. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, hand-painted, and hand-signed — some inspired by her own paintings and drawings, others commissioned in synergy with clients who want clothing as personal as their story. A custom send-in service lets clients have their own existing garments reimagined as personalized works. The brand also publishes a monthly Print Club, and LeCraw maintains a separate painting practice depicting women submerged in bodies of water.
