Kitsune Creations is a Greene, Maine handmade pet-accessory studio run by Allyson Kangas — a graphic designer by day who launched the brand after getting her Shiba Inu, Bento, about five years ago. He inspired her to focus the side business entirely on animals. The signature pieces are flannel dog bandanas in high-quality, yarn-dyed plaid prints with frayed edges (thick, warm, and durable) and snap closures so they stay put. Bandanas come in four sizes that fit dogs from tiny to giant, and cats too. The catalog also includes pet bow ties, collars, and resin pet tags. Bandanas are sold on Etsy and through Maine craft events like the Freeport Fall Festival. Kangas has an active repeat-customer base who keep sending her photos of their dogs sporting the latest prints.
