Founded in 1976 by Stuart and Marianne Smith, the family-owned operation runs a 35,000-square-foot flagship at 115 Commercial Street in Rockport plus satellite locations in Camden and Rockland — carrying apparel, footwear, fishing, camping, climbing, ski, snowshoe, and paddling gear. The company also rents kayaks, canoes, bikes, and skis, runs guided trips and Maine Guide training led by registered Maine Guides, and operates the Maine Island Lodge on Muscongus Bay.
