Norimoto Bakery is the small Deering Center bakery from Atsuko Fujimoto, who won the James Beard Foundation's Outstanding Pastry Chef or Baker award in 2024 — one of two Portland bakers honored that year. Originally operating out of Two Fat Cats from 2019 to 2021, Norimoto moved to its own storefront at 469 Stevens Avenue in 2021. The bakery sells European pastries with Japanese sensibility: miso caramel millionaire's bars, red bean-filled goods, flaky croissants, decadent cakes, and fresh-warm onigiri rice balls. The hole-in-the-wall storefront is small enough for only a handful of customers to fit inside at once, with lines often stretching out the door.
