Art Deco café, speakeasy lounge, and art gallery in downtown Lewiston's former Lamey-Wellehan building — paninis, flatbreads, cocktails, and 1920s silent films above the bar.

Obscura Café & Drinkery opened in 2022 at 108 Lisbon Street in downtown Lewiston, set inside the former flagship of Lamey-Wellehan, an Art Deco building from the period. Lewiston natives Corey DuFour and Angie Lafrance held the vision for years and partnered with Maine native Nathan Hines to bring it to life — carpenter, artist, and film backgrounds combining into a speakeasy-feel cafe and drinkery reminiscent of early twentieth-century theaters, with 1920s silent films running above the bar and an art gallery wall rotating local artists. Chef Jules Muzyka's menu runs through paninis (the French Onion Soupanini, the Piccadilly pickle panini), rustic flatbreads (Hot Dang! chicken with chili-infused honey), small plates, charcuterie, mashed-potato waffles, and dessert waffles. A confirmed LGBTQ+ inclusive venue and active participant in Art Walk L/A.
