South Street Linen

South Street Linen is an independent clothing business based in Greater Portland. Founded in 2011 by three Portland artists — painters Lynn Krauss, Mary Ruth Hedstrom, and Jane Ryan — the brand designs and produces all-linen clothing, scarves, and accessories from a Portland shop and a second location on Vinalhaven, with all garments cut and sewn in Maine by local seamstresses (the Lithuanian linen is the only non-Maine input). The company is part of the slow-fashion movement, focused on quality, longevity, and locally-made small batches.
