The 626-acre coastal farm in Freeport was established in 1959 by Eleanor and Lawrence Smith and became a nonprofit education and research center in 1997. The seasonal Farm Store carries organic produce, pasture-raised meats, and Maine-made pantry goods from May through October, and the property includes a livestock barn, three miles of public trails along Casco Bay, and an oceanfront campground.
