Bard Coffee is an independent grocery & food business based in Greater Portland. The Old Port roaster sources micro-lot beans directly from farms, brewing single-origin coffee at their Middle Street café and shipping beans nationwide.

It started in 1994 with one coffeehouse on Portland’s Congress Street. Today Coffee By Design operates three coffeehouses in Portland and one in Freeport and runs a thriving coffee roastery in Portland, which sells to nearly 600 wholesale and mail order customers around the globe.

Speckled Ax Wood Roasted Coffee is an independent grocery & food business based in Greater Portland. The Congress Street roaster fires its vintage Petroncini with Maine-grown hardwood, shipping single-origin and blended beans nationwide.

In our cafe, we offer a simple, traditional menu of seasonal espresso and drip coffees, tea & pastries, and retail bags of coffee to enjoy at home.
