Twelve opened in July 2022 at 115 Thames Street on the Portland Foreside waterfront, set inside Building 12 of the historic Portland Company complex — disassembled brick by brick and rebuilt at its current site. Chef Colin Wyatt returned to Portland after twelve years at Daniel and Eleven Madison Park (which earned the World's Best Restaurant accolade in 2017), with executive chef Hannah Ryder now leading the kitchen. The four-course prix-fixe and à la carte menus pay homage to Maine's seasonal bounty — fresh oysters from Chebeague Island, Caldwell Farms beef, foraged mushrooms, kombu martinis, and a lobster roll on a hand-laminated croissant. Bon Appétit highlighted Twelve's Milk Bread with brown butter and smoked pecans among its Absolute Best Dishes.
